This courthouse is a joke! Went there for custody & the judge was on vacation, which is, whatever, everyone deserves one, but no one notified me until I drove 3+ hours to get there. Went back a 2nd time & the judge stayed in his chambers the whole time so he blindly believed the GAL's report that was full of lies of supposed websites she went to saying the schools my son would attend at his father's were better than those near me & those same websites showed me the one school I wanted to send him to was the best out of all schools in both areas, she withheld the fact that I gave her letters that were from CPS stating my son's father abused him, she left out how his father was arrested & CONVICTED several times for DUIs & possession of drugs, & so many other things it mind blowing how she has the job of being a child's "spokesperson"! Almost her whole report was fabricated & when I demanded proof I was denied. Then after the judge agreed to my son's father was a better fit from her fairytale (clearly because of money since he's wealthy & I am not, nor do I have a criminal record), my lawyer decides to tell me that he's retiring in a few months so he had nothing to do with me after that except to mail me the order. It would have been nice know about that prior so then I could have gone with a more dependable lawyer but seeing as NC condones & supports child abusers, why be a person who is upfront & honest?!?! Now I have the order that states that my father's son & I need to take a co-parenting class online or at a designated location, the psychiatrist my son was seeing (which his father only started taking him to when he was being taken to court for custody), his father was required to go to 6 sessions with him, & I was supposed to give his father a schedule of the weekends my son's would be at my house & weekends I would be there. Needless to say, his father has religiously violated the "new" order since the day it was made & no one will enforce it unless I'm the one violating it. Since court, I've taken the course & go figure, his father hasn't, visits to the psychiatrist have come to a screeching hault, & his father picks & chooses what days of my schedule work for him which was the problem before, only now that he's in sports, his father thinks he shouldn't see me at all & it's ok to talk crap about me to him & assault me in public in front of him because money talks & he gets away with it. Not to mention, the court order itself looks like a toddler put the schedule together. The days/dates don't match the actual calendar. It shows dates for the middle of the week instead of Fri.-Sun., there are months that start of being one month, Feb. for example, lists a weekend my son should be with me & when it lists the weekend for me to go there, for the same month, it says Oct. with off the wall days & if I want it fixed I have to pay another lawyer to go back to court which would probably have the same jacked up schedule. Can anyone There read a calendar?!?! Skip ahead a few months & here we are back in court for child support, I was told the order would be typed up & sent to me immediately. A month later, I, nor my employer have seen anything from this so called courthouse. I call to find out what's going on & I'm directed to child support enforcement office which in turn wouldn't even let me finish a sentence before they dismissed me telling me to call the child support office in my city. They hadn't heard anything from NC either & that turned into a huge mess because NC claimed to have sent it yet my case worker, employer, & myself have yet to see anything. Thankfully my case worker actually does her job & got it resolved that day, unlike the incompetent people at the courthouse & child enforcement. It's funny, the GAL & everyone there wants to act like that area is such a better fit for my child when the people there can't even do the simplest of things & they're clearly able to be paid off so the child abuser can get his way. Good job! You are everything that's wrong with the judicial system!
